Over 2,000 people in the Nepean Blue Mountains region sought help for alcohol and other drug issues in 2023. More than 25% of them were primarily struggling with alcohol use. These numbers reflect a real and growing need for community support, education and access to help—right here in Hawkesbury.
We at Hawkesbury Against Harm, have dedicated this initiative to fostering a healthier, more connected Hawkesbury by supporting individuals and families who have been impacted by alcohol and other addiction related harm. Instead of concentrating on the issue in itself, we concentrate on creating pathways of recovery, increasing awareness, and accessibility to recovery and support. Our aim is to educate individuals with knowledge, skills and support so they can make healthier decisions and enhance their wellbeing.
Real Support, Local Impact, Healthier Lives.
Whether you’re seeking help, concerned for someone else, or want to be part of the solution, we’re here to make a difference where it matters most: in our own community.
We connect people with trusted local health professionals, counselling, rehabilitation and crisis support services across the Hawkesbury region.
Through workshops, school programs and public campaigns, we raise awareness about alcohol harm and promote healthier lifestyle choices.
We offer information, peer networks and referral pathways for those supporting loved ones through alcohol related struggles.
We promote inclusive, alcohol free events and community led initiatives that foster connection, belonging and wellbeing.
We believe in the power of community-led action. Our ongoing and upcoming campaigns are designed to spark conversation, challenge stigma, and provide real tools for positive change. From schools to local streets, these campaigns aim to inform, empower, and support every corner of Hawkesbury.
